Winch options for 5th Gen

Installing Hefty Banshee bumper tomorrow, but still haven’t bought a new winch (Banshee design makes it easier to add winch after bumper is installed). The Warn VR EVO 10-S is under recall, and I was pointed to the Superwinch SX10SR at a similar, and even lower, price point.

What are you happy with?

I have the Harbor freight Apex Badlands 12000 or whatever its called.

It works well, and works when i needed it twice. Id buy another one if i needed to. Lots of great reviews on youtube to watch and form an opinion of your own.

x2 - same here. M8000 with some well-tested Amazon.com Synthetic rope. I've had this winch on 3-4 different trucks and it's been bomb-proof so far.

Love my smitty20x. Decided to replace the synthetic rope with an Amazon option which was cheap enough to get a second line as a spare... I keep it in the back of the truck.

The wireless remote is great. The winch has one weak point, the wireless switch on the winch itself. It can be replaced with a marine grade switch on Amazon for around 15 bucks... but even if it fails or the remote battery dies, you can always use the hard wire to activate the winch.

I also have a Smitty X20 10k. It's worked every time I've used it. The on-off switch lost it's cover and kind of fell apart at some point, but it still works.

I have an EVO 12s in the front and an EVO 10s in the back. I have used them extensively and they have never let me down. I've done some crazy long pulls helping other people and even myself and they just keep running.
