Rear cargo area floor question and part identification.

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is and what does it do?
It sits behind the rear seats toward the front if the cargo area.

I was also wondering if this is has to be relocated or gets in the way if im installing the factory cargo liner / carpet or goose gear plate etc on the cargo area flooring.

2020 ORP.

Thank you.

Thank you.

It will have to be relocated. Its the antenna that picks up the signal to unlock the hatch.

Thanks for the reply. I’m curious why the relocate if this is standard on 20+ I’m moving a deck out of a 20 into a 23 and installing the 23 stock rear carpet into the 20.

I can see that being an issue with an after market base plate but the stock carpet from a 23 should be able to accommodate that if that antenna is in the same location.

And really I’m curious where it could possibly be relocated.

Thank you again for thr response.

I always thought that was a roll sensor.

If you look in the repair manual at least for 2010 they show another one exterior center towards bumper and one driver side rear door area / maybe cargo area, can't tell.. Seems like nothing over on passenger side regions.

I agree with you though if you are moving Toyota 20 / 23 stuff back and forth, seems like it would be a non issue. Just watched a YT vid of a guy pulling cargo floor from 5th gen. He lifted up the Styro and no antenna at all.
