Anytime Backup Camera Wiring/Switch Panel Question

Hi All -

I have finally reached the point where I am running out of switch blanks and starting to look into switch panels/wiring options. I was wondering if you guys had thoughts on 2 things:

First - Has anyone wired their anytime camera setup to a switch panel? I've tried looking, but couldn't find anything, but I'm a bit of a noob when searching these forums.

Second - I see a lot of reviews/opinions on various switch panel, but haven't seen much around the switch panel options from Nilight/Rough Country, and wanted to see if anyone has thoughts/experiences to share.

Nilight: Amazon.com: Nilight 6 Gang Switch Panel Universal Circuit Control Relay System with Fuse Wiring Harness Automatic Dimmable ON-Off LED Switch Pod for Cars Trucks Boats ATV UTV SUV, 2 Years Warranty : Industrial & Scientific

Rough Country: Muliple Light Controller | 8 PANEL | Rough Country

First.....I would not put the anytime camera on an auxiliary switch panel....the camera rocker switch is wired into the harness that is at the back of the head unit. You would have to run those wires to the engine bay (where an auxiliary switching resides) in order for it to have control. The part of the auxiliary switch that is in the interior is just a control interface that sends a signal to the unit under the hood. you also have to consider that the camera rocker switch is a 3 position switch that handles two circuits. If you were to use the auxillary panel, you would have to use two buttons to accomplish the same functions.

Second...dont know anything about those, but i have an 8 switch Auxbeam and its been great for the last two years.

I installed an anytime backup camera switch using @Antman s how-to that’s contained in the stickies. I installed it in the overhead console, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work just as easily in a switch panel. It would be a matter of running longer wires. One thing, though: the how-to may only apply to pre-2014 models with the camera display in the rear view mirror.

Thanks! To be honest, I tend to heavily lean on trail4runner.com - and when they wired their ABC, it seemed suggestive that it was simple/possible.

Also, glad to hear that the Auxbeam is working out for you. Again, some of the comments I heard on their Auxbeam install scared me away, but maybe I should reconsider. For the most part, I really wish there as room for just one more switch (1 for amber, 1 for whites, 1 for chase, 1 for ABC), but with only 3 switch blanks, I'm not considering a switch panel.

I've been searching high/low for a switch that would fit in either 1) center console where seat heater blanks are, or 2) switch that would fit in right panel of the steering column. I've only seen USB outlets that would fit

Appreciate your input

Thanks for the lead - I'll check out his post, but based on the previous comment, seems like it may not be suitable. Will take a look thought - appreciate it!

As the anytime harness is behind the radio a convenient location for a switch is in the OEM single switch opening in the dash panel to the right of the steering column. Remove the blank and insert a switch. Good convenient location without taking up a spot in multi switch panel. This is where I mounted my switch.
