The videos are pretty and very well produced.... after that they seem like dueling ads for the tires rather than an objective review.

Not to jump on the bandwagon... Ridge Grapplers really are awful tires other than in the looks category. My experience was the tread chunked out very easily, sidewalls were weak, weren't good in the rocky terrain I tend to wheel in (CO, AZ, NM, UT), lousy is wet conditions, frightening in snow and ice, and they didn't last long (I guess that was actually a good thing in hind sight)
I'm not a KO2 fan either but certainly they were better than the RG's. So far the best tires I've run are either the ST Maxx or At3/w. I'm only about half way through my At3/w's anticipated life but they are a surprisingly durable tire and they are excellent in wet/ice/snow.

I have 285/70’s AT3W’s in a SL rating and they have been good all around and very good off road. The ride and weight(50#’s)is good. I think they’re built more like a C load tire.
I’m thinking about stepping up to a 295/70-17, and not to high jack this thread, but does anyone make this size in a C load? Can’t find any. There are a couple C load rated 285/75-17’s. But I would like to stay close to a 33.

I’ve been running BFG All Terrain T/As for three decades on various 4x4 trucks. Currently running OEM size load range E’s on my ‘18 as well as my previous ‘02 Tacoma TRD. They work for me and have never failed me. I don’t off road as much as I used to, but still live where dirt roads outnumber paved ones with significant snow in winter.

I’m sure that technology has advanced and there is a dizzying amount of choices out there, but tires are too expensive and require commitment for the life of the tire. If they suck, I’m stuck with them for several years. I live in an isolated, rural area of widely spaced small towns, but my small town tire dealer can get me BFGs for nearly the same price as Discount Tire. So I stick with what works for me.

I like new KO2's. Wet performance once they are below 50% is downright scary.

Thoughts on alternative tires that are not Nittos? I was thinking of discount tire exclusive Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrains. Thoughts?

Look into Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. I had the SL on my 2000 4Runner and now have the LT E rated tires on my 2021. Couldn't be happier. Spent a week in Death Valley going over some sharp rocks, smaller boulders, mud, rain, snow and ice (a little sliding, but to be expected) and no issues to speak of.

68,000 on my current set of BFG ATs on my 4Runner and no wet weather concerns. No big surprise to me, though. I’ve been using BFG ATs since the 90s on various types of vehicles with no wet weather issues.
