Rear skid plate missing

I bought my 2016 4runner new from the dealer. Had a suspension lift. Recently I did my own oil change and noticed they removed the original REAR skid plate (# 51450-60050). I am guessing it was a clearance issue? Surely some spacers could have been used, right? And why didn't they give me the original to keep?

Anyone know about fitment issues of this rear skid plate? I want to gather info before driving to the dealer and raising heck. thanks!

What rear skid plate?
The one directly under the engine?

If so there should be no fitment issues.

Has your vehicle EVER been to a quick change lube place? They are NOTORIOUS for ripping off skids and NOT replacing them.

I've only gone to the dealership for oil changes. There are 2 skid plates. the front one that the plastic air dam attaches to. I have that one, but the rear one that has the removable panel for draining the oil...that one is missing. And now...how can I get the dealership to replace it? My word against theirs. grrrrr.
My guess is maybe it was removed during the suspension lift.

There would be no reason to remove the skid plate for a lift install.

If you have had all maintenance done at the dealer since 2016, there's a decent chance they may buy you a new skid plate... if you go about it the right way. Just ask about it, and keep asking, mentioning it has never been serviced anywhere else, not demanding or accusing.

Or just buy it for $150 (don't forget the bolts)

Yea, that is what I am thinking... go in and try. politely. I started to think...could someone have stolen mine? I highly doubt it. At least not in my driveway because I have cameras that would have notified me of movement. And random other places would not make sense - that would mean someone was always on the lookout. just plain weird.

P.s. I wonder if that skid plate gets removed during certain inspections. I recall a mileage inspection of certain things. Hmmm, I could try talking to a mechanic and ask them under what circumstances they would remove it. Just on principle it pains me to have to pay $150 for something that someone else removed.

Start with a nasty review. They typically have people dedicated to resolving public complaints.

Well if it is missing, don't stress too much about it. They are junk and most everyone just tosses theirs in the trash. Go on facebook and most likely someone will be giving away the oem skid for next to nothing

Yes, the factory "skid plate" is in name only, very thin sheet metal. I replaced all of my under panels with RCI full package. I think I put the old ones in the recycle bin, but if I still have the around, you can have them for free. Just not sure where to dig to look for them.

Well, I talked to someone who also has a Trail (TRD?) Premium (KDSS) and he said he only had the front skid plate.
Hmmm, maybe ours didn't have any belly protection beyond the front plate?

He installed the RCI version due to KDSS, but said gravel gets thrown up and rattles something awful. I'd love to find a better option
to protect the center transmission area and the Transfer case area, but a) I don't like RCI looks and b) if gravel gets thrown on top - that will drive me crazy.
But seems to be the only option.

I have not had a problem with rocks thrown up on top with my RCI skid plates.

I did get the RCI integrated front skid plate that allows you to keep the OEM TRD skid plate: TRD Integration Skid Plate | 10-Present 4Runner / FJ Cruiser - RCI Off Road Perhaps that makes a difference since the OEM TRD skid plate is much higher on the front than the RCI. The RCI only goes up to the front cross member, while the OEM TRD skid plate goes up almost to the front bumper.
