It’s a bunch of could-be-worse, normalizing, and defeatist de-escalation.
As an end user, I’m not going to make excuses for manufacturers.
Vehicle security is a flat out embarrassment compared to even the most basic types of current Wi-Fi encryption available on a $50 router.
Automakers are lazy because they’re actually incentivized to stay one step behind thieves - every vehicle not recovered is another vehicle sold.
