2015 TRD ORP KDSS rear shock upgrade advice

Hello,

I have 2015 TRD with KDSS and I want to buy pair of Rancho rear shocks for it.

Namely, RANCHO RS55397 RS5000X, but what I see in some descriptions about fitment is this:"Except Kinetic Dynamic Suspension; w/ Rear Raised Height 0 (In) To 1.5 (In)"

As far as I know, KDSS equipped runners use the same shocks as non KDSS ones, so why is there an exception?

Has anybody fitted those as well and tell how soft/hard the car has become?

Also, do you guys know if rear spring spacers for levelling are the same for 4th and 5th gens? I I have got a pair and would like to fit it as well.

Thanks

From someone who had a Rancho lift, do yourself a favor and just spend the money on something better quality to start with. Most people do the Billy's, Dobinsons, OME, Icon, or better. The ride on the Rancho's was initially decent, but faded fast. I felt like I spent a bunch of money to halfway do what I really wanted to do, and then spent a bunch more money to do exactly what I needed to do the first time. Save your money, wait, and do it right the first time. I ended up with the Icon eventually, but also like the ride my friends have had on the Dobby's too.

get some billies, they make shocks at everyone's price point.

As long as you aint lifting past 3 inches you will be fine.

Hey, Thanks for the reply.

I had billies on my previous cars and was satisfied, but the thing with those Ranchos is that these are the only options I can pick locally. I am not in US and my rear shocks are dead and I need something to change them. I cannot import them from US either, so this is just a temporary measure.

The only thing I am interested now is whether there is any difference between KDSS and non-KDSS shocks and if no, why rancho writes about it? I tried to mail them, but got no answer so far.

Thanks
