255/80r17 on SR5 Wheels?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of installing the stage 1 Eibach Pro Lift kit. I am going to combine that with 255/80r17 Falken Wildpeak at3w. I want to run the stock SR5 wheels. Has anyone mounted 255/80r17 on stock sr5 wheels? I've seen plenty of pics of them mounted to the offroad wheels but I'm looking for them mounted on SR5 wheels. I appreciate it!

255 ? Just curious why a tall narrower tire. Recommended wheel for that tire is 6.5(7.0)8.5, I think the SR5 will be fine.

After doing a ton of research it seems like the narrower tire should fit without much modification. I was debating going to 285/70r17 but they seemed to be hit or miss with rubbing due to their width.

I know people were fitting the 255/80r17 on TRD offroad wheels but the SR5 wheels have a +15mm offset so I'm wondering if that would cause rubbing. Just curious if anyone has any feedback.

I just did almost exactly the same setup last week! I love it! I don’t know how to post pics or I would. I did the 255/80 Wildpeak tire with a 6112 Bilstein shock and 700lb coil up front and the Eibach 1in rear coil and shock combo out back. It rides a little rougher on the street but off road it’s awesome! My son and I did a trip to Nelson’s Landing in Nevada this weekend. We cut through some of the Mojave National Preserve.
I blasted sand washes and power line roads at 40+mph. I have video running down a power line road at 47mph. I like the tire setup, no rubbing anywhere. Not too much of mpg hit either.

That's awesome! That's exactly what I'm looking for. I figured it would be a little rougher on the street because of the E load rating, but the added toughness of the tire is a plus for offroad. You said you have no rub, do you happen to have these tires on SR5 wheels I should have my lift kit on Thursday so I'm hoping to tackle it this weekend. Tires should arrive on Tuesday. Can't wait!

I’m on the stock ‘22 ORP wheels. Looks like it’s stock. I think it looks like it should have been from the factory
