Battery Replacement
My 6+ year old Sears Diehard AGM is dying. It's a Group 24
I see Napa has an AGM for $249, Costco sells an Interstate AGM for $179 and Walmart has their Ever Start that appears to be made by Johnson Controls for $179.
Walmart is the most convenient source.
I don't see a need for an Odyssey or Optima.
Recommendations/Opinions?

I just replaced my OE with an odyssey extreme
ODX-AGM24F - ODYSSEY Battery
it was an exact fit
use their application guide...plug in your vehicle. your should be the same as mine.
Battery Search | ODYSSEY(R) Battery
Ordered direct from odyssey took about 3 days to arrive.

Unless you have a need I would just get a standard replacement. I went with Duracell from Batteries +.

alternatively you can size up and go 27F - fits just fine and gives you more capacity. also, were you running a voltage booster with your agm? a well maintained (fully charged) agm should last 10 years if not more.

X2. I just replaced mine with a standard Napa Legend. "Cheap" and a good battery.

I originally went with the Diehard AGM, but since Sears seems to be tits up, the second time around I went with Northstar - from the many groups buys that we had.
After one early failure, that was replaced under warranty, they are still running strong.

On the subject…I’m holding off on a lot things that NEED to get done…
Putting my bumper, winch, some lights n various electrical mods, communications, etc
Due to needing a new battery, stock is dying out on my ‘16
Was recommended this by mainline overland…
Basically a dual battery setup
$100 off plus I have a $50 promo code that may be able to be combined haha
Possibly looking into fridge/freezer as it is local, new n a steal
But fridge/freezer aside, I knew I was probably looking to deep cycle AGM
X2 was high on the list from the research I’ve done
What does everyone think?
(Holding breath n have an ice pack ready)
DL+ 12v 60Ah Dual 1000CCA Starter Plus for Deep Cycle Battery

Read the fine print on that battery. It cannot be charged by the car charging system, rather it requires a special lithium charger (which is included in the purchase price). Charger is only 10 amps which means it would take six hours just to charge it, I assume at home. No good for backwoods adventures.

I don't see the need for an AGM battery in your vehicle unless you want to mount it some other way that topside up. AGMs are lead acid batteries that are sealed and have a glass mat that contains the acid to prevent spillage. You can mount them upside down if you want.
Deep cycle batteries are designed for low amperage, long time use, like a trolling motor on a boat or for electrical lighting; also for use with solar panels. They are built to allow for deep cycling (heavy drawn down to less than 1/2 charge and then recharge) and provide fewer amps for high amperage, short term uses, like starting your vehicle. (Your starter motor needs that high amperage, especially in winter.)
I use Lifeline AGM batteries in my Airstream trailer because they are supposed to be 'the best' AGMs on the market. I have a solar panel on the top and Airstream installs Lifelines on any trailer that has solar because of the constant charging/discharging, particularly when you're dry camping (no shore power). The batteries provide power for all the lighting, fans, fridge and water heater circuitry as well as inverter power.
In my car I use a Toyota battery, from the dealership. It's only the second battery it has ever had, a Panasonic (which I still have and holds a 75% charge) was the first. In my boat and other vehicle I use Deka, made by East Penn. Deka also makes the NAPA and Duracell batteries and I believe some of the Costco batteries. They are very good batteries and it used to be you could get them only in farm stores and marinas.
My '04 T4R is a V8 and has the towing package, so group 27 was OEM. If you're replacing I recommend a group 27 for the extra power but if you don't have the towing package you may have to upgrade the rest of the equipment to be able to support the larger battery.

Do you have Interstate Battery in your area? They have always been great batteries and good customer service.

Interstate makes a good battery, I have one for the starting battery in my boat. Toyota batteries used to be made by them but Exide (and others) make them now. Compare the warranty against Toyota's.
If you have an Interstate outlet/warehouse near you I too recommend them.
