Raptor Grille Lights: Splice or Fuse?
So I hit a pheasant that wiped out the grille on my 4runner. I bought an insert to replace the factory one and it has the Raptor-style grille LED lights. It's not really my thing, but the grille has a location dedicated to them and came with the lights and for the price I can't complain much so I might as well use them.
I'm looking into how I want to wire them into the vehicle. I'd rather not have them on constantly and instead have them on when I have parking lights or my headlights on. I've seen a few videos on how they run a line completely back to the cab fuse box but they're powered anytime the truck is on. My thought on this would be to splice into the wiring for the parking lights and then they would only be powered when I have on DRLs or headlights. Which fuse runs the parking lights? Would these dinky LED's pull too many amps and blow the fuse? Would I be better off running a dedicated line to the lights and how would I go about making it so they just turn on when the DRLs or headlights are on? Let me know if you have some insight to this.
