ARB skid installation question/verification
Hi all,
So, I grabbed the ARB skids for my 2019 TRD-OR w/ KDSS and got the correct model (5421110). The instructions were AWFUL and I was trialing so many different setups to get the first front plate to fit. In the end, it did finally fit and the subsequent skids went on without issue.
However, because there's no real instructions for specific models, I wanted to ask anyone else that has put these on if I used the correct mounting points. All questions refer to the front skid plate...
1. I mounted the front two bolts of the skid plate into the chassis cross member that runs below the swaybar, is this correct? I was initially thinking it'd fit onto a stronger structural piece, but this was the only way the plate would fit. I also had to use the factory bolts as the supplied bolts (and washer started folding as I tightened them down.
2. The back two bolts use the supplied bolts and thicker factory washers/spacers. Does this sound correct? Were there supposed to be any spacers provided in the kit? The stock washers/spacers looks like two of the shorter washers just taped together.
3. As I said earlier, in the end, it all fit together, but I'm concerned it's somehow wrong. The front skid comes into contact with the front differential supports. Is this normal? Has anyone else come across this with their KDSS model?
I'll get some pictures posted as soon as I can.
Please help me ease a troubled mind.
Thanks,
Jeff
