I think the real question is whether the TRD pro is a better buy than a base level GX. depending on where you are there might not be too much of a price difference in stepping up to the GX
the lexus build quality is fantastic. sure labour is probably 50% more at a lexus dealership, parts are probably marked up as well more than at toyota
If I planned to buy a vehicle at that price point and also use as a daily driver with only some/light mods I would buy the GX all day.

There will probably be some carry over visuals / ideas to the 4runner from the new gen models (gx, tacoma, sequoia , tundra etc.) I agree with the TRD pro and base level GX, if a daily and little off roading the GX is probably a better choice.
To answering the OP question no one here knows the answer unless they are working for toyota.

The new GX is hideous. I threw up a little when I saw it.

Well, the outgoing 4Runner and GX share a chassis, wheelbase and all, produced on the same line.
I suppose the new 4Runner will probably have the same wheelbase as this new GX? I don't think I could really glean much more than that.

I like it! Have always been a fan of the GX and LX's.
A bonus is the rear hatch swings up not to the side as opposed to other generations!

Don't count on it. I think the GX actually shares its new wheel base with the LX if I am not mistaken. Folks are also missing that the new GX is both significantly wider and longer than the existing GX.
If the 4Runner follows elements of the Tacoma more closely (including powertrains) it may actually diverge quite a bit in the redesign I think.

Oddly - oil changes are cheaper at the lexus dealer here than Toyota by about $20. In general I've found lexus service to be less than Toyota. I think it's intentional as part of the Lexus ownership experience being low stress and low cost after purchase. It's the anti-BMW model.

The new Tacoma is about the same width in the off-road trims. It's wider than a LX as well. Not sure how much is shared between them, but I think the midsize SUVs are all converging now to a single chassis. It makes sense to me. Why have a 110 and 112 wheel base when you can just make them all 112 and cut down to a single basic frame for everyone.

I've never owned a Lexus, but I have owned vehicles from Infiniti, Acura, Audi, JLR, VW, Jeep, and GM.
I actually have found the most ridiculous service by far to be with JLR. Infiniti and Acura were both downright reasonable compared to Audi (and probably jive with Lexus whom my parents swear by), and surprisingly VW definitely felt like it was at a price premium also despite being a "mainstream" company.
Part of the appeal for me of the Japanese after owning a bunch of European cars is that the TCO definitely ends up being way lower for most I'd say (combination of reliability, service costs and higher residual values).

Hrm, you may be right as I have not seen a spec sheet for the 2024 Tacoma anywhere. I assumed it was closer in size to the current truck, but maybe I'm completely wrong.

They use the 9.5" rear axle, which is the same as the LC300 I think. And the track width is basically the same as the LX (it's about a half inch wider than the LX) - so it's probably the same front suspension setup and varies due to the wheel offset. But the body is about the same as the old taco (the door to door width). The engineer said that they had to keep the door to door width the same roughly so it still fits in the same garages as the old one and the width they wanted to limit was the overall door open width. But they significantly widened the stance and track width and fender areas for better stability and more suspension travel (and probably because they already had the same track width in the parts bin). I think they ended up going about 4 inches wider on track width over the outgoing truck, but I can't find the spec sheet right now.

Toyota engineers have stated that their body-on-frame vehicles will all be using the TNGA-F chassis architecture. Meaning all of their BOF vehicles will be essentially the same width, with differences in wheelbase for Tundras, Tacomas, etc.
I expect the new 4Runner to be very close in size to the new GX, with likely the same wheelbase.

I think they did a fantastic job on this one and its a big win for 4x4 enthusiasts everywhere. When was the last time you could order a Lexus from factory with 33" offroad tires, rear locker and sliders? The only additional things on the wish list that would have been nice would have been a disconnecting front sway bar and front locker.

Screens are getting so big we’re getting the “displaced iPad” look again.
We need to keep these screens tucked under the dash brow.
Entry and mid level German models are guilty of this, too, but they magically “fix” the problem in the higher end models (Q7, Q8 / RS6, S8). Sometimes the solution is two screens - one infotainment and one dedicated climate control below.
