Ventilating Seat Cover = Life Saver!

Hey all, so I thought I'd just share my experience with a ventilating seat cover I purchased off Amazon. I love my Off-Road Premium and the Softex seats, but one downside is they can get HOT in the summer heat. I ended up frying after grocery shopping one day, even with the air conditioner at full blast, my back and butt were sweating. Cloth seats as my previous vehicle had don't have this problem.

So I'm like, "Okay, I've gotta change something here."

I read about sheepskin covers, but didn't want to put those on because it would interfere too much with the look of the Softex. On Amazon, I found ventilating seat covers, so I bought a highly-rated one by a company called Paffenery that cost a bit more (about $100), and WOW has this thing been awesome!

It reduces the comfort level of the seat some but more than makes up for that with how it helps keep you cool. You put the air conditioner to blow out of both the top and bottom vents and it sucks in the cool air and blows it on your back and bottom. If you let the vehicle run for five minutes or more without you in it with the air on and the seat cover running, it will make the seat outright cool.

No it isn't as good as actual cooled seats and probably not as good as decent ventilated seats, but it is way better than nothing and keeps you from sweating or being in a hot seat while driving. It has three speeds and also a massage function, though I don't use that much. It plugs into the 12V outlet.

Also the color of it matches the Softex. Here are some pics:

Just an FYI here - some vehicles will lock the doors after a minute or two if they are running with nobody in a seat (not sure if true for the 4Runner). So if you are cooling things off and not inside the truck, have a spare key with you just in case!

Yes, my 4Runner has push button start, so I have to have the key fob, which has a physical key, in my pocket for the vehicle to start.

Are the ventilated seats not an option for you guys in the US? They came standard on both my Limited's (16,21). They might not be quite as cool as say a Mercedes seats with feature, but they sure work nice all the same. Those covers look nice. Sure beats sticking to the seat..

The ventilated seats are not an option for OR Premium, OR, SR5 Premium and SR5 in the states (the OP has an OR Premium.)

Like your ride, the Limiteds here do have ventilated seats as a standard feature.
