I know this is a an older thread, but because this is my first post, i'm not allowed to start a new thread.

I'm asking for recommendations for very reputable enclosed car transport companies in the northeast, please. My brand new dream build 2024 TRD ORP is en route to the Toyota dealer, and because of a busy few weeks of travel, it will work better for me to ship the car from the dealer in Western NY to my home in Eastern Mass. I'm leaning toward Sherpa or Montway, and think I'd be okay with either. So far, I'm not 100% trusting of SGT, Road Runner, or Amerifreight. This isn't the easiest thing to shop for, and I'd prefer piece of mind to lowest cost. Thanks in advance for any informed recommendations.

Try Summit. I used them to haul my FJ40 from California to Colorado in an enclosed trailer, and was VERY happy with the service. Owner is also a member of IH8MUD and a Toyota guy.

I get your situation; transporting a brand-new car can be stressful. Sherpa and Montway are both solid choices and have good reputations. If you're looking for additional options or want to cross-check, consider looking into companies like Ship A Car Direct or Reliable Carriers. They’re known for their quality service and can provide peace of mind. It’s wise to prioritize reliability over cost for such a valuable vehicle.

It can be a bit of a head-scratcher when things don’t go as planned. From my experience, finding a reliable shipping company is critical. It’s like choosing a good contractor; you want someone reputable and can do the job without surprises. I understand the frustration with shipping car across country, especially for a brand like Toyota. I’ve found that reading reviews and asking for recommendations can make a huge difference. Also, ensure a clear breakdown of costs upfront to avoid any nasty surprises. Hopefully, your Toyota will get to you safely and soundly without too much hassle.

I have found that the name of the company does not matter much. It all depends on the person driving the truck. Some are good other do not care that much. Most of them are on a system that they just watch their computer and jobs pop up that they can get if they agree on the price the originating company quoted. If you are along a major highway they like that, if you are off the beaten path they do not. They like to plan their route so they can get the most cars on a load with the least hassle. Seems like most of the companies are based in Florida.
