Anyone have a good back of the envelope idea of HP/torque gains that could be expected with one of these? For the price seems like a pretty good option, especially if combined with a CAI system...

A modern PCM/ECM will just open the throttle plate less to adjust for the increase in air flow. Resulting in the same power as before.

A horrible waste of money without a custom tune.

Would want to see documented test results before plunking down $$. Most claimed HP increasers do it at higher rpms which are virtually useless in most driving situations.

Combine with a supercharger for real gains.

Just installed mine, can't wait to see what if any gains I can notice. I have an ECU tune and they said it shouldn't cause any issues with my tune, but definitely curious to see how the truck takes to the increased airflow. I'll report back once I run it through it's paces for a few days.

These typically do not provide much gain on their own as the intake manifold neck is still only matched to 70mm. They had the same upgrade available for my G35 to upgrade from OEM 70mm to the maxima 75mm TB and there were barely any gains to be had on its own unless you ported the intake manifold out. Maybe 12hp at the top end of the RPM range like 5k+rpm, which in our case would typically not be in a usable range.

I would be interested in it as well if it was proven to provide low end gains as I already have a magnuson with a custom tune. Since I live at altitude and travel mostly between 6500-12k ft any extra air flow is appreciated.

if it doesnt cause an issue with a tune, that must mean it doesnt affect airflow enough?

i'm interested to see some reviews. even if it doesnt add power, it could change the power curve and make the car more drivable. or at least less boring.

guys used to swap the GM TB's onto the nissan 5.6 v8. solid gains but mostly when they had supporting mods like header back exhaust, tune, cai.

The difference would not be enough to trigger a CEL anyway I don't think. on the vq35 the 75mm TB was plug and play. The main problem with the GM TB on the titan was because of the difference in modulation/readings on the TPS, not so much the amount of airflow difference. That harness those guys used to sell with the conversion had a resistor in it that fixed it so the TPS would give proper readings.

It would be worth it to get more low end power, but I looked back at the the VQ35 dynos and it had no change until 5.5k RPM where it started gaining till 7k.
