EZ Flares XL review

Will make this short and sweet:

Works great.

easy to install.

questionable aesthetic appeal.

expensive for what it is.

1 pack isn't enough for 4 fenders.

questionable durability.

I plan on only just doing the front. I bought the XL version, but I think the regular version will look better. I bought the XL for the extra coverage. Ghetto mods for the win.

on to the pics:

Reminds me of the garage door liners they sold as EZ-lips that everyone was putting on their cars.

it probably is. I think they literally just went to home depot and repackaged it.

I'm gonna test it out tomorrow in hurricane...er tropical storm hilary...lol If it survives that, good to go.

That would be awesome if they did. I would definitely buy.

that explains why they dont include enough weatherstripping for all 4 flares lol...

I actually like the way this looks and was thinking of doing the same thing when I step up to larger tires down the road. I like the prado NYTOP flares a lot too.

It would be nice if Seibon made CF flares for the 5th gen like they do for the Tacoma. It would match your hood.

I did something similar with some sheets of abs plastic

However, I've already ripped the passenger side off after one good stuffing of the tire in the wheel well.

I think it may have been one of your old posts that gave me the idea to look for a retail solution. Then I saw that the lesbaru crowd swear by the EZ flares so I decided to give them a try.

Well the ez flares is made by foam (extremely flexible but dense ) and the attachment point is only 1 inch (so only bottom painted portion of OEM flare) and the whole thing is lined with double sided tape. It isn't coming off without an act of god or the OEM fender coming off with it. If your tires clear the OEM fenders, it will clear the EZ fenders.

Give the 1 inch version a try, it might work for you. The only reason i dont recommend the 2 inch version is the curve closest to your side mirrors, is sharp enough that the ez flares pokes out very noticeable (it flares out like 3 inches at that corner).

So after driving around the Socal rain (tropical storm hilary), i am impressed with their function, but they don't look aesthetically pleasing...lol.
