When looking at the battery tray, it doesn't appear to have an additional 1/2" width to spare without sitting up on top of the tray (see photo).
My local garage said their parts locator says to use group 35, which is only 9.1" wide, but the group 35 batteries have much lower CCAs.
I'd prefer a group 24F, if it will fit. Has anyone successfully installed a group 24F battery? Did you need to make any modifications, put a spacer under the battery to raise it above the tray edges, etc.?

Bunch of folks have run the 24f, it over hangs a tiny bit but have had no issues. I have one in my 3rd Gen. There after market battery boxes you can purchase which are a little expensive or modify a marine battery tray holder like this one,"https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001O0D6R4/ref=sw_img_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1"and make it work.
