Headlamp bulb going in and out intermittently after H9 bulb mod?

Anyone have any advice? Basically the bulb will work for a couple days, then go out, and then as soon as I touch it it starts working again. Don't really want to waste the bulb if it's a simple as crimping or spreading something apart to get a better connection maybe?

I would check the connections in the socket to make sure they are tight and the crimps are good. Also look at the bulb to see if anything looks bad (loose tab or pin and if they are dirty or corroded. Also look at the socket (where it plugs in to the bulb) to see if it looks good. Does it fit tight when plugged in? The fact you can touch it and it works indicated a poor connection somewhere. Also look at the wiring that leads up to the socket to see if there is any damaged insulation, etc. Trace it back as far as you can.

Lots of problems with 4Runner tail and brake light wire crimps. The same could be true for headlamps I guess.

From what I understand, you shouldn't touch the bulbs. The oils from your fingers can create a hotspot on the bulb and may cause premature burn out.
