Issue w/ Viofo A119 Dash Cam and Fuse Tap

I'm getting no power to the camera and can't figure out what I might be doing wrong. Any ideas are welcome.

1) I'm using the right style/size fuse tap?

2) This Viofo camera has 3 wires. ACC, BATT, and Ground. I "presume" the camera should work just doing the ACC and Ground, since the BATT is just for it to switch to parking mode. I don't have the 2nd fuse tap for the BATT (it's ordered) but wanted to test it out in the meantime.

3) I've tried multiple slots and orientations. Does orientation actually matter if both slots have fuses? Would like to rule that out as a possibility for further testing.

The camera does work when plugged into a cigarette lighter. I tried the ground screw both under the bolt head and behind the fuse panel against the sheetmetal. Any ideas or something dumb I'm doing?

Thanks

It looks like you are using the correct fuse tap. If the original fuse fits into it then it is correct.

I would think that it should work with just the ACC wire connected but make sure you are using a fuse slot that will work for that.

Fuse position within the fuse tap and the fuse tap orientation when connected to the fuse block does matter. If the fuse tap is plugged into the fuse block backwards then power won't get to the new circuit. In your picture it looks like you have the fuse tap plugged in the wrong way, remove it and reinstall it in the opposite orientation.

Here is the fuse block on my '19 T4R ORP with my Blackvue dash cam connected. It has both the ACC and BATT wires connected but I don't remember which is which. Notice the orientation of the fuse tap (brake pedal is to the right). I connected the GND wire to the fuse block mounting bolt. I used my multimeter to verify that each connection was correct.

ETA: It appears that your image is reversed (numbers appear backwards).

Edit: I thought I had an answer but I don't.

does it power up with the cable (not the hardwire)?

I'm going to assuming it's like a headunit were it uses ACC as a trigger but it pulls operating power from the constant even if you are not using the parking mode.

Alright SOLUTION: I stopped by a car audio place and for $20 and 15 minutes he was able to diagnose it. The ground was rather pinched or not seated in a good place. When I was trying the 1 wire connection the other day I tried placing the ground between the bolt head and the plastic of the fuse box, then switched it to behind the plastic of the fuse box and against the metal bracket (still with the spade around the bolt). Evidently it did not like that and when he placed it back behind the bolt head it works now.

Also, to note on these 2 wire Viofo's they both do need to be powered in order for the camera to work at all. You can supposedly combine both wires together and connect it to the ACC but nonetheless they both need power.
