Evap system hose between the charcoal canister and fuel tank rubbed a tiny hole in it. So every 2 drive cycles, it would perform its self test sequence, fail for not holding pressure, and turn on a CEL.
I had an ABS sensor wire also rub partially through, which was fine 99.999% of the time, except when it got totally soaked, like it does in a snow storm, so when I really needed 4hi, it wouldn't work.

I have many times considered creating a work around circuit to control the AAD without the Toyota 4wd ECU, but haven't yet.
First I've ever heard of this. And for it to kill ADD and render my "I wasn't asking" manual 4WD lever useless, that's disappointing. CELs aren't common on 5th gens, but it would sure be annoying to need 4WD and have the system lock you out of it one day.

LOL

I think they intentionally make the Pro available in somewhat polarizing colors. I haven't cared for VooDoo Blue, Lime rush, Solar Octane, Cement, Lunar Rock, etc.

I'd have to see the Terra color in person, but it reminds me of my Anthracite Metallic 3rd gen.

I was thinking before last week that the 2024 would be the start of the next gen like it is for the Tacoma. I've been looking at the 4Runner a lot lately due to it being simple, practical, and hopefully it will live up to its reputation as being bulletproof. Glad I have another year in case I don't find the right one soon.

New 2024 Pro color is a tribute to all the east coast runners - exterior matches the undercarriage rust!

Yeah, I feel the same way. GM went the way of turbos when it came to their midsize SUV/Crossovers, and Ford went the same way. I just like the old school naturally aspirated engines. My wife drives the last year model of the current Acadia and the one coming out for next year will have a turbo 4 as its only engine choice.

I'm still miffed that GM decided not to bring back a rugged body on frame SUV like Ford did with their Bronco. I like GM but for a rugged SUV I'm looking at Toyota, specifically the 4Runner.
