When should the heater hoses be replaced in the 5th gen 4Runner?

When it leaks or cracks? FWIW, my hoses are all original at 350k miles and 12 years old

My wife seized up a van engine at 115k miles and 10 years because a oem heater hose let go.
Didn't stop on freeway in rush hour.

Consider heater hoses, radiator hoses, thermostat and water pump replacement at 10yrs old. Sooner if necessary. Change the anti freeze after 5yrs.

Several hoses on my '03 are developing a white powdery coating, anyone experience that or know what causes it?
