It's the same part for sure, just branded differently. Made by Champion Labs which makes a huge amount of the oil filters on the market for tons of different brands at all different levels of quality. For example they also make the particular "Mobil 1" filters I use in my Z. The Royal Purple filter is a great deal @ 12.99 if you can find it at that price, worth stocking up even.

I'm pretty sure I've read that Amsoil is the third and final brand that also sells this same TRD/RoyalPurple oil filter at their own cost. I haven't looked into it more because I've never seen that it was cheaper than the RP.

As far as their oil, if you really want to know more, it is worth spending some time on the BobIsTheOilGuy forum. You can search for specific oils and almost guaranteed to find the specific brand/viscosity/product you're looking for being discussed, often times with Virgin Oil Analysis and Used Oil Analysis reports to go along with it. In terms of 10k mile oil changes, I personally am not a fan and changing the oil every 5k in my 4R. I change the oil every 3k miles in my old Z, so I'm already used to frequent oil changes and enjoy the process.
