If your fogs are real high quality aftermarket units like Baja/Diode Dynamics/Morimoto then I’d keep them and use on the 2024 as they stock ones are just ok.
You could keep your LED high beam bulbs since they are simple to remove. On my 2022 I switched off the DRL function, then removed the halogen DRL bulbs (which remain in the same position as your 2020). I installed 9005 LED bulbs and wired them to my switch panel as auxiliary high beams. They work great. (see my build thread for details).

I noticed that in a youtube videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi7sFN44YvQ there is an option in the infotainment to turn off DRLs. but in canada they are mandated, thus that option is not there for us.

It’s strange that Toyota would make the inside halogen lights DRL only, while making the Canada models DRL/High Beams. The inner lamp halogen DRL/High Beam was the 2021 models here.
If that is in fact the case, the VLEDs product is designed for that. It’s specifically designed to work as an anti-flicker DRL in DRL mode, while also giving a substantial LED high beam.
Here’s the link I’m referring to:

For the 22+ my understanding is they dont use the pwm+ anymore.
on my 2020 (16-21) the LED lights i used were as follow...
for the "projector housing " were Nineo,
Fog lights lasfit,
the inner higher beams/drls aux beams that came with the "Decoder" out of the box.
Never had an issues. For 22+ i Need to use this harness
4Runner DRL Harness
– 4runnerDRLmod
before using a specific Led lasfit bulb.
But that company doesnt ship to canada!

That’s true on the US spec 22+ models, but if you’re saying your inner lamps are both DRL & high beam, in halogen, then I suspect they are still using the 2021 circuitry in your vehicle. I know a good bit about lighting and cannot see how they would duplicate the 2021 system without PWM. Additionally it makes some sense to retain the 2021 design rather than design an entirely new halogen system just for Canada and just for a year or two.

Two things in regards to US and Canadian specs... Im not sure if people are aware of this but in Canada we get premium specs by default... In canada the non "premium sr5/ off road" isnt available, unlike the US. specs. Also when it comes to climate controls i noticed the CDN specs are different than the US specs.
The U.S. versions tend to have the triple knobs, whereas in canada we have two knobs and buttons to control the directional airflows. I believe that the 2 knob button w/ directional airflow buttons are only available on US LIMITED editions. Don't quote me on that... I bring this up because they might be using the same concept for wiring of the headlights for Canada / us specs...? :-/
Anyways based on that, do you think i should take a risk and spend the money on getting the Aux beam LEDS and see if they'll work? I need to take pics but basically the inner Halogen bulbs that act as DRLs do become high beams! If it's still PWM+ it will make it easier for me to transition to LEDs again!

That is what i'm referring to. from what ive seen the premium offroad in the us does not offer that climate control, offered only in the limited edition. But in canada all the TRDOR comes with that "limited edition" both my 2020, and 2024s had that. I'm just bringing this up just referring to above where it was mentioned that canadian and us versions versions might not have differences with wiring/ options...etc

Worth giving it a shot. I’m partial to VLED’s products, but either way I’m betting they’ll work if PWM compatible.

This is great info are they bright enough to use as High beams?

this is correct, you have the climate control system like the
limited in Canada.

Because the laws are different. Two examples:
1. Canada requires the DRL to be on all the time the engine is running. You can't turn them off. In the USA, there is a DRL off switch on the stalk.
2. Canada requires metric and english units displays, and also French language nomenclature. USA does not.

I’m glad it worked. Not quite a genius, but I’m pretty adept at lighting issues. The owner of VLED’s is a long time Toyota guy, so when they announced that specific kit I knew it was great stuff.
If you really want some fun, have a look at my build thread and how I did the additional backup lamps. Used VLED’s products to have bright led rear turn signals, eliminate the “egg yolk” look of amber bulbs in clear lens housings, AND double the rear turn signals as additional backup lamps. Completely plug & play with no cutting or modifications. My own idea, but their products are so well designed it happened easily.
Enjoy the new upgrade!
