Powered Sub, using stock radio?

Anyone got a powered sub and still using the stock radio and speakers?

I was looking at the JL stealthbox at first but it would require an amp. Would prefer to maybe throw a powered sub under a seat or something.

Anyone do that and if so, what sub/speaker, and how did you wire it? High input? Or does the back of the Stock unit (I have a 2010 Trail) have RCA outputs?

And if so, how does it sound?

Thanks,

This is what I used to add an amp/sub to my stock headunit, plugs in the back and provides RCA's. The stock HU does not have any RCA outputs

I have the Alpine S8, and followed Antman's method of wiretaps ANTMAN'S Thread - Page 24 - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum. It fills out the sound better with more thump than I expected, although I definitely recommend replacing the terrible stock speakers too. I did both at the same time. Fairly inexpensive Polk component speakers up front and 5 1/4s in the rear doors. Disconnected and jumpered the hatch speakers to allow more power to the remaining speakers (that's a Rigtec thread). The system is loud enough for my metal head and was undoubtedly worth doing.
