hey baja designs - are my ditch lights supposed to fog up when I use them
so. I swapped my fogs for the baja sport fogs and installed a pair of s2 pro ditch lights almost 1.5 years ago.
I noticed that when I use the ditch lights a fog seems to appear on the lens on the inside when the air is cooler outside. I swapped out the gaskets, checked the lens for cracks but the same thing happened. I feel like this should not happen for such expensive lights in such a short period of time. they are supposed to be moisture sealed. anyone else having moisture issues when it's cold out? I suspect my fogs are also filled with moisture unless they are designed differently, but it's hard to tell with the amber wide cornering lenses on
I've had my OEM headlights and OEM fog lights for 12 years, and they have been perfect. I would expect better here for the price I paid. warranty or not, two lights should not have the same fate unless it was a bad batch... moisture should not be forming inside the light. boo
I get this is normal perhaps for lights that aren't sealed or waterproof but these have no vent port and are supposed to be IP67. to be clear the fog/moisture is on the inside of the lens, not the outside. see pic below of one of the pods. there's a section of the spot beam obstructed by moisture
update: spoke to Baja - they are taking ditch lights and fog lights back. will repair /resend under warranty

They are actually quite active on forums. I’ve seen a lot of replies from Baja on the other 4Runner forum and the Tacoma forum.
Yes I plan to call them during business hours lol. I wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience.

all manufactures have a fail rate.
Hopefully, you get it sorted out.

If there's moisture in the lens, it might be because of condensation or water getting in there. Look for any signs of water sneaking in, even super tiny ones. Sometimes, those little gaps you wouldn't think much about can cause moisture buildup. Check out the seals and seams too. And don't forget to ensure the lights are installed correctly. Sometimes, if they're not put in properly, water can gather in spots and make things all foggy. Just double-check that they're set up the way the manufacturer suggests.

Baja Designs lenses are user-serviceable so you can remove those 4 face screws and inspect the seal and lens. I had a moisture issue with an S1 light and found the seal was slightly pinched at the factory. They sent a replacement out and I was good to go.
When you reinstall, not a bad idea to wipe the seal down with some dielectric grease. Don't lay it on thick, you just need a little on your fingers and run the seal between them. It helps it seat in the channel a bit easier so you don't pinch it.

Thanks Brahian - I spoke to one of your colleagues yesterday, Anthony. he got me sorted out with the paperwork. appreciate the reply to the thread
It's nice to see vendors active on the forums and replying to threads. I still am puzzled how all 4 of my lights have a moisture problem, curious to know what the cause of it is. I thought maybe climate related and the deep freeze and thaw cycles where I live affecting the seals around the power cord. I guess I'll find out. the lights are fantastic though otherwise and put out way more light than I'd ever need, especially the fogs

I had some bolts seize in the housing of my s2s, sent them to baja, they replaced the housing, hardware, and brackets. Super great customer service.
