Good locking gun vault in console?
Is there a good console vault for the 5th gen that anyone has put a g19 or older 1911 or a wheeled model 66 with a 6” barrel? Or other creative locking mechanisms that are easily accessible and easily lockable?
Thanks,
Jon

i like the lock'er down safe, think there was one posted in the classifieds here. I picked mine up on facebook market for about $100 shipped.

I've used a Console Vault brand for years with good results - it will definitely hold a full-sized 1911 or a G19; not sure on a 6" revolver though.

i have used both console safe and lock-er down (currently). My g19 fits fine in there.
I prefer the combo lock vs a keyed lock.

Thanks, I’d want the combo lock so I could leave it open while driving, and not need a key to open it if needed quickly.
I saw one on the classifieds, key only and sold I think.

locker down is what I had. firearms carrying is not allowed in Canada but I used the safe for wallet storage etc. when out at the marina. the console safes are great BUT they really reduce the amount of storage you have in a vehicle where interior storage is difficult to find. it's also hard to access the plug inside the console with these safes. I ended up removing mine since I valued storage for everyday items but you're in CO so shipping isn't worth it. It's sitting in my basement...
the locker down safe was good though, the mechanism worked great for the almost 2 years I had it in there, never had an issue with rattling either. and even in very cold weather the combo dials didn't stick

Toyota sells an OEM one. It's made by a company in Tennessee if I recall and has cutouts for the power plugs in the console etc. Fits nice, has some nice security features.
It's part #PT972-89200 for a 5th gen 4Runner.

Not for pistol up here..but a small locker case for a 14 inch 12 gauge fits nicely behind the front seats. Also there a few rear hatch gun racks
that work well for a couple of whatever you want..

I have the Lock'er Down Extreme with the extra thick 10 gauge lid. It's awesome.

They are coming in tons of the SouthEast Toyota vehicles. Its hard to find a vehicle on the lot in Mississippi that didnt have one. Seems like every 4r we looked at for a year had them installed from the factory. These are on the window sticker, so they are not a dealer installed item. Might be installed at the port/upfitter but they are definitely coming in them when the vehicles hit the lot.
