Front axle play in knuckle?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to diagnose a small clunk in the suspension.

New suspension in October of 2023 - shocks, LCAs, UCAs, tie rod ends, sway bar links. Also ECGS front bushing, front calipers, pads, rotors, and a few miscellaneous things. Truck drove and sounded perfect until . . .

New tires four weeks ago, five visits back to two shops to figure out the vibration at 60 mph, turned out to be a dragging caliper on the passenger side. Replaced under warranty, also replaced rotors and hoses for good measure.

Drove fine for a few hundred miles, but now I hear a clunk, sometimes on left turns with suspension travel, sometimes on speed bumps.

Retorqued the LCA's a few times, checked everything I could check. The only thing I can find is some travel of the diver's side front axle in the knuckle (video attached, sorry it's shaky).

Before I take the axle out - is that normal play? The play is definitely feels like it is coming from the outer end of the axle, you can see the outer boot flexing.

That's not normal, right?

Edit: I fixed the link so it's viewable now, my apologies.

Did you check if the axle nut is tight?

I haven't checked it yet. I want to get another axle and nut so if it's stripped I can replace it then and there.

check it first, if it’s that bad you might need a wheel bearing also
