TRD features - moonroof charged as an option

Ok, does anyone make sense of this...
TRD Off Road lists the Moonroof as "Standard Features" but lists the Moonroof twice?
And then also listed as a charged option for the moonroof package? What?

What shenanigans is going on here?

I thought the moonroof was indeed Standard so what's with the extra add-on package charge? A moonroof is a moonroof. (which means tilt/open/slide shade) Maybe a mistake in listing it twice? And maybe the moonroof is an extra charge? Even though I believe they put them on most every 4runner trim anyway from the factory (except the TRD Pro).

I vote for "sticker printed at dealership by an idiot"

When I bought my TRD ORP last July they showed me a window sticker copy and the features and options were EACH followed, line after line, by FIO or PIO... fatory installed options / port installed options.

She told me all of the options were "factory options."
Sure, like the Predator running boards. Bug shield. Matte Black wheels for $1700. BS, all of it.

I went down the list in front of the new sales person saying it out loud. When I went back 2 days later she had a new copy of the window sticker without the FIO and PIO notations.

Looking at your sticker, some other things appear twice:

Heated Door Mirrors AND Heated Outside Rear-View Mirrors

and

Heated Front Seats AND Heated Front Bucket Seats

and

Garage Door Opener is there twice as well.

This 2016 TEP w/KDSS is a big step up from the 1986 Subaru GL wagon I used on the Outer Banks beaches for 14 years. That thing would go anywhere in the sand on 185/70-13 tires. Dual range 5 speed, factory skid plate, 3 position manually adjustable rear shocks and armored exhaust. All factory, including the white spoke wheels. The front sub frame finally rusted apart.

the moonroof package may include more than just the moonroof. all TRD PROs come with a moon roof I think but perhaps not all come with other items in a moonroof package that you could get on another trim. that would be my guess

Agree 100%. When I buy a new vehicle, I always start with the window sticker (MSRP) and negotiate with the salesman for anything they want to add to that.

What they are showing you is a really underhanded way to make more money, and could be considered fraud (charging you twice for the same thing).

Maybe it has something to do with being standard on the off-road premium and not the non-premium. Not sure. Window stickers often list redundant features.

Moonroof is not a standard feature. the label itself must be a misprint but I remember paying extra for moonroof and it is listed on the website if you do a build as a $630 addon.

Moonroof standard in the Pro, optional on the other two TRD trims.

I bought my ORP used (600 miles!) and it had the moonroof, but it’s the only thing I regret as I’d prefer no moonroof.

Perhaps it's a "standard option thing." By that I mean it seems that some things like moon roofs, heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc. come on all models in certain parts of the country and not on others. So, that would make them standard (since all models have them) in those areas. For example, we have a 2013 SR5 which has a moonroof. Living in Kansas where severe weather is common; I didn't want a moonroof. Dealer said, all our 4Runners come with a moonroof. That would make it standard IMHO! Matter of definition I guess!
