Replace DRL with a more white bulb question?

My wife has a 2018 4Runner SR5 Premium. I installed the Lasfit Pro 4runner specific low beams and switchback fogs this weekend. Now trying to change out the DRL. I don't mind if it is a halogen as only will be used for DRL function but the OEM looks pitiful. Is there any good options from Sylvania, Phillips or anyone else? Or is there a true plug and play option yet for LED? Not trying to run a bunch of ballast or things to the battery. Thank you. I was searching this morning but didn't see anything for halogen replacement.

Unfortunately no...what you seek does not exist (Yoda voice off)
I searched all over here and in the Australian market for a replacement...no go.

The issue is that the high beam bulb serves as the DRL, when you are not using the high beams. If I remember correctly; the filament on the factory high beam bulb runs at 12.x volts all the time. However, in DRL mode the wattage on the bulb is like 12-15 (I think) giving the low power, warm white glow we all hate.
Once you hit the high beams, the 12.x volt filament gets a huge increase in wattage, hence the bright white high beam, now blinding oncoming traffic.

I will stipulate that my memory MAY not be as sharp as it once was and it MIGHT be a dual filament bulb...
Either way, unless something has changed in the last couple of years. We have no other option other than the stock Toyota bulb. Unless you want to scrap the DRL all together and replace the high beams with a complete aftermarket High beam HID kit.

FWIW, I did change out my low beams to aftermarket HID, but i find the stock high beams to be sufficient for my needs, most of the time.
I just turn my DRL's off with the switch....

Good Luck

Since they are Halogen and run at a reduced voltage, LEDs will not work.

Even with the Lasfit as your low beams, you will still need high beams from time to time. I have the Lasfit and they are great, but if they are aimed correctly so as not to blind oncoming drivers, the distance is just not there for high speed driving at night.

What I did was get 100 watt halogens. They are brighter and not quite as yellow. The Phillips are probably the best: Philips Rally Vision 9005 HB3 100W Two Bulbs Headlight High Beam High Watt Lamp | eBay but Hella also has some good ones: Amazon.com

Anything over the 55/65 watt limit is supposed to be illegal, but I have never been stopped in over 50 years with the 100 watt H4 bulbs in my Porsche.

Edit: For a whiter light, you could try the Sylvania SilverStar. Two problems with those:
1. Much shorter light due to running the filament at a higher temperature
2. No brighter since they are still 55 watt bulbs. They get the "whiter" color by removing the red/orange/yellow components with a blue coating.

There are lots of bulbs out there with a blue coating, but they are still 55 watt.
