But I just spoke to a shop who told me a body mount relocation is mandatory and that a BMC will not be sufficient. They also said an adjustable UCA is needed, not just a new one with fixed, altered geometry.
Anybody else have experience with this?

you will need a BMC and UCA, you will not need a relocation.
Most aftermarket, non-adjustable UCA have built in caster dialed in, just make sure to check the specs before you purchase.
Whoever told you that you NEED a relocation, is just trying to sell you on a relocation.
I run total chaos uppers (non adjustable LCA) and 34's and standard BMC...no problems.
