BMC vs Relocation?

Stock '21 TRD Pro. Thinking about SCS Blaze 10 in 9" -38 ET with 285/70/17 tires. From what I've read online and from what a few shops have told me, this combo should fit without rubbing with a BMC (and new upper control arms, and the typical fender liner and bumper cut). But I just spoke to a shop who told me a body mount relocation is mandatory and that a BMC will not be sufficient. They also said an adjustable UCA is needed, not just a new one with fixed, altered geometry.

Anybody else have experience with this?

you will need a BMC and UCA, you will not need a relocation.

Most aftermarket, non-adjustable UCA have built in caster dialed in, just make sure to check the specs before you purchase.

Whoever told you that you NEED a relocation, is just trying to sell you on a relocation.

I run total chaos uppers (non adjustable LCA) and 34's and standard BMC...no problems.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for the info! I think their concern was the -38 offset wheels. When I mentioned those, they were like oh yeah you absolutely need a relocation.

You will for sure be fine with an aggressive BMC. The relocation is cool, but only needed when stepping up to 35s if you offroad.
