Interesting - that’s what I imagined would happen so I used vinyl wrap on my front chrome. Then I figured plasti-dip would be a low risk experiment on my rear garnish. It may be because the front gets more abuse than the back, but the plasti dip is holding up better than the vinyl wrap. Car washes, ice, bugs, rocks(?) tend to be creating small tears in the wrap, whereas the plasti dip is still perfect.
