If the Limited transfer case was available on ORP's for $1,000 or so (which is pretty much the case with Rubicon Wranglers...), I would've absolutely sprung for it.

Like I said, shame that my '99 Limited allowed full-time 4WD (and 2WD!) and rear locker at the same time, but a 5th gen doesn't.

Update: I pretty much got what I wanted. 2024 Limited 4WD Pearl White with beige leather interior. No extra options, not even running boards. Got a price I was happy with.

I did have to pay for Southeastern Toyota's distributor add-ons. The only way to avoid those is to maybe go to another region-

Puddle illumination $600
LED cab lights upgrade $230
2 free oil changes $700

Handling fees were exorbitant.

My 99 Limited 4WD is now for sale.

Toyota gives you free scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, for the first two years or 25,000 miles. Why would one pay for oil changes if they are free at any dealer in the USA?

My last complete service, including oil, filter, and tire rotation last summer was $135 at my local Toyota dealer. I'm really not trying to make you feel bad, honest.

I don't feel bad about the oil change charge. It's one of many mandatory surcharges when buying new due to living in the Southeastern Toyota's region. It's been going on forever here, so I've known about it for a long time.

I change my own oil and rotate my own tires. Other than oil, there is no real maintenance for the first 25K miles.

Correction: The $700 includes free oil changes for 3-5yr, 60K miles. Looks like I'll be getting the oil changed at the dealer for the next few years, instead of doing it myself.
