Ebay parts from Japan

Has anyone here ordered factory parts from Japanese sellers? I am looking for a 48006-60031 accumulator for my KDSS system. They are much cheaper from Japan but I have no idea what fees would be associated from Customs.

The total cost of the item is under $800 U.S.

Anyone have experience of this nature?

what is the price coming from Japan? well under $800? honestly for that price I'd order locally, not get hit with taxes and have a much better sense of when it's going to arrive. I'm curious though if some of these Japan sellers actually ship it from the USA with USA stock, even though it lists Japan. I feel like it would be weeks or more to arrive if it actually came from Japan. eBay guarantee though is key for anything I order just in case

Is it this? It looks legit. They have a bunch of stuff. As long as it's not some kind of front for fake stuff from China.

Yes, that is a similar vendor, there are quite a few selling that part with quick shipping and good feedback. My dealer claims Toyota discontinued that part so if he tries to order one they will kick it back. There are other dealers that show they have one in stock but list price is $2500 and the cheapest I can find at a U.S. dealership so far is around $1650 more than double the Japanese prices.

I doubt that the US customs would charge much if anything. The shipper will attach a customs label stating what is inside; usually they just put "auto parts" on the customs declaration. When it hits the US, the package will probably be x-rayed to be sure nothing illegal is inside (drugs, ivory, antiquities, etc). I have ordered car parts up to several hundred dollars from overseas and have never paid an import duty.

The Ebay listing shown above seems good; shipping is free or "expedited shipping" for $20. Really can't beat that. Remember too, that Ebay has a guarantee for everything that is sold on their site.
