Maybe living in flatland at sea level has something to do with it. Here in high altitude and mountain land, these engines will rev a lot more, and I'm sure it's more annoying at 3500RPM than 2000RPM.
Well I live in Iowa but I also pull a Fishing Boat with it also. I also hunt in the Western States for Big Game should be heated to Montana in May for another trip.
I have always protected my hearing since I was in the Marine Corp and wore Headsets that were noise canceling when flying.
With all that said I don't find it that loud.

[QUOTE=mswaz;3839529]So I have a 2024 TRD Pro and the exhaust is driving me crazy. I like the side exit but the sound you get inside the cabin is awful and it is not quieting down. I have almost 5,000 miles so far. Is there anything that can be done short of replacement with another exhaust. The normal 4Runner exhaust is fine but prefer the side exit over the rear exit on the regular exhaust.[On the passenger side of your 4runner there is a vent behind the rear bumper cover. Remember its behind the rear tire. There is a cover plate you can buy to cover it. The vent is for the air pressure inside the cabin. It has a rubber flap behind vent. Owners claim exhaust smells get into the interior and I wonder if your noise is getting in thru it also. If you lay on the ground you should see it or feel it. Try covering it to see if it helps. Good luck my friend.
