Passenger DRL / Side Marker not working in AUTO

I recently installed some Morimoto XB headlights and everything was working fine for about a week. Suddenly the Right Headlight (passenger) side DRL stopped working. I troubleshooted everything I could think of including creating a seperate wire harness for the right DRL power to make sure there was nothing wrong with the DRL 12v power harness, checking all fuses, etc. I eventually contacted morimoto assuming something must be wrong with the headlight itself. They just sent me a new one and after installing it I still have the same problem. The headlights all work fine in every mode EXCEPT when the headlight stalk is in AUTO mode during the day when only the side marker should be dimmed and DRL should be on. The DRL strip is on when the headlights are on, the turn signal works on the DRL strip and sidemarker when I turn that on, when i set the stalk to DRL they turn on (although this mode also dims my dash so I dont want to use that)....
any help would be appreciate on next steps to troubleshoot. is there is DRL low power relay somewhere that could have bad connection/fried? is there anything in the BCM or ECU i should check? pic and detailed video below

I would return everything back to the way it was before you installed those new lights and see what works and what doesn't. That will eliminate the 4Runner and point to the newly added parts or not.

I would also keep in mind the cause could be unrelated to this light change. I had a problem with the lights in my old Nissan PU after changing lights. Turned out to be the turn signal / light switch.
