Stranded in Boise - Busted Strut (Eibach)

Hi, all.

Just busted the bottom plate holding the strut and coil assembly on the passenger side of an Eibach Stage 1 kit. Looking at the other side I have a huge crack in that one.

I live in Ohio, on my way back from Oregon, and trying to get to Wyoming for a backpacking trip...convoluted, I know!

If anyone has any ideas on where to get replacement (same or similar) in town ASAP, that would be great. Currently sitting in the Idaho State Liquor Division parking lot off of exit 57 of I-84.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

JT

When I needed a quick single replacement I ordered one through Tire Rack.

Peterson Toyota ended up having a set of Bilstein 6112s out of their accessory department that had been ordered for a guy who never ended up picking them up. They were incredibly helpful and I was able to pick those up from them and get them swapped in. The Les Schwab on North Ten Mile Road was also very helpful in compressing and assembling the struts and springs to make the swap much easier.

If you're in the area, give them your business!

Cheers.

Glad you got back on the road. How many days were you "stuck" in Boise?

24 hours only!

In reference to luck and a little more to the story...I had a friend traveling with me who has a buddy who lives in Boise. Once we had made our calls and ended up securing those Bilstein's, he called his buddy and told him what had happened. He said, "Hey, come on over here! I have a new lift in my garage so with that and my air tools, we should be able to get this done. Oh, do you want steaks for dinner?" Amazing hospitality, especially considering he is married, has three young kids, and worked with us until 2 AM that "night"!
