Pressure regulator hose was disconnected

I was watching this video and I thought Ill check my hose. I doubt its off but about 20000miles ago the dealer did do some warranty work.

Low and behold it was OFF! I cant believe it. I reconnected obviously; I havent noticed any symptoms that he has described.

The truck has 30000miles now.

Do you think any damage has been done? Btw I never do short cycle trips. Always full warm up.

Maximum fuel pressure AND a leaky injector is not good. Luckily your injectors must have been fine!

It is hard to imagine how that much fuel, must have been a cup or more, got into the cylinder. I think there must have been some other issue besides the fuel pressure regulator at the end of the fuel rail.

Guess what, I checked mine hose after watching the video today, it was also disconnected. Dealer did spark plug and gasket change 1 and half years back and did that. It has been driven 15k miles. Worries me. I noticed that my oil level abnormally high to the upper mark when cold. I will go to dealer to change oil and complain.

Creating a problem to fix seems to be a business model these days. Works in politics too. ‘Many such cases’ ;-)

That’s interesting. I think this might be happening a lot. Can you let me know what they say and if they are going to do anything about it?

I doubt damage was done but more information will be good to have.

Wow! I just checked mine as well and was very surprised to see it was not connected! I had it at the dealership to get some maintenance done so it might've happened there?!? Mine is a 2015 and have no idea how long it has been disconnected. It seems to drive normally and when I picked it up at the dealership they told me it was in 'magnificent' condition. I'll keep an eye on it but not going to worry too much.

I went to dealer last week and argued with them about how the host was disconnected. They claim that the host shouldn't be disconnected for that long as if it was, they said the check engine light will be on. They said it might be caused by mouse creeping into the engine bay, as they showed me seems some footprints of mouse but it hard to say. Technician checked the oil and smell the oil and say they don't think there is fuel into the oil and everything seemed normal, no damage. It was very hard to argue with them.
I ended up doing oil change just to be safe.

This is a load of crap. I went out to my 2018 just to see if the hose was connected and it was. Pulled on it with a bit of force to see if it would disconnect and it wouldn't. There's no way a mouse could pull that out.

Next they'll tell you that the working soft serve ice cream machine at McDonalds 500 miles away caused your sunroof to leak.

Wow, apparently dealers cannot be bothered to reconnect that important hose.

That Car Care Nut Video definitely put cylinder washdown on my list of things to avoid

Hell, my 2023 has 9,000 miles on it, think I'll check that hose later to see if the factory even connected it

I would’ve expected a code as well from the fuel pressure sensor or rich fuel mixture, etc. I don’t recall if AMD mentioned what would throw a code.
