rear wiper doesn't always return to parked position

hi all - i have a pretty minor problem here. the rear wiper on my 2018 limited won't always return correctly - if i shut the vehicle off and it's in mid swipe, it will just stop dead wherever it happens to be. i have to turn the wiper off, wait for it to return to the parked position, and then shut the truck off. just wondering if anybody else has experienced this. front wipers aren't affected. i think i read on another forum that this can be caused by corrosion in the wiper stalk. thanks

As far as I know, the rear wiper as well as the front wiper will stop in its current position when the key is turned to the off position.
Never saw mine return all the way to park when shitting the engine off.

I think you want that. Replacing the wiper blade is much easier if you wait until the wiper is on the windshield and then turn off the ignition. 4Runners have always worked this way in my experience.

hey thanks, looks like my front wipers do the same thing. for some reason i thought my old 4th gen would park them if i shut the truck off mid swipe. the mind's the first thing to go i guess haha.
