couple points to consider
- I would put it to the left of the steering wheel where all the switch blanks are. should just pop in
- you can wire a couple different ways. black to ground screw or black to battery - won't make a difference if your ground is good, but I generally prefer battery. you can run positive to battery and have power all the time. or you can run positive to somewhere that gets 12v when ignition is on. There is a spot in the interior fuse panel that has a blank spot. should be 4 or 5 down on the right hand side (easy to test with multi metre). when IGN is on, that has 12v. you can cut the 10A fuse out of the positive wire from the switch and then use a micro blade fuse with a 10A mini fuse and wire your positive from the plug to that tap
- I would avoid splicing any factory wiring. you can, but I don't think you need to here
