Power Running Boards and Car Washes

I presume this is going to result in a clear no and a handful of people both crapping on power running boards and car washes but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

For those with power running boards, do you ever leave them down during car washes to keep them clean or get the salt and slush off?

How would you keep them down? The door has to be open for them to go down.

I had the Rough Country power running boards installed (great so far) and there's a switch in the footwell to keep them down. I could hypothetically keep them down to get the ice and slush off.

All I can find is one forum with Dodge Ram owners were a couple of them had their bolts ripped off. Going through a car wash with theirs down, but then again that could just be because it's Dodge, and they're substantially wider vehicles I think?
