I'd like to see someone get one and measure things... IMHO from the photo, it looks like the increased the rear passenger area and shrunk the cargo area. Those rear passenger doors look larger.

Don't like it at all, resembles the highlander to much in size. Definitely not an offroading vehicle..

I expected the look to be very similar the RAV4/Highlander/Sequoia, so I'm not surprised. What sets this off from those others is the all of the squared corners and straight lines, such as the wheel wells, the creases in the doors, and much of the front end.
The roof rack looks identical to the current Highlander.
I like the turn signal mirrors, but I am very disappointed to see a mast antenna and a non-secured fuel door. Toyota has a rubber duck stubby antenna on many of their models - that would be a better way to go if they wanted to get away from the on-glass antenna on the 4th Gen.

I agree. Latest corporate body styling with a twist. A little more squared off front and back to 2 part fogs/turns looks good.
I like it. I would get it if I didn't already have my 4th Gen.

I like it!!! and will begin to save up for my downpayment. The only real bummer for me is that my 2000 4runner only has 107,000 miles on it and has been paid for for the last 4 years. I really could drive it easily for another 4 years! Time to pony up for another truck payment I guess.

What size wheels are in those 3 pictures? Are those the 20s or 17s?

Maybe underneath ground clearance will spec better than 4th gen, but it sure looks like there's less clearance under the doors which was very good, on a relative basis, on the 4th and very handy off-road. A straight line drawn (4th gen) across the pinch weld under the doors extends above the center of the front hub. The same line drawn on the 5th appears to be well under center. I always figured this good 4th gen rocker panel clearance was traded off by the high interior floor that some complained about. Perhaps that configuration has been reversed in the 5th gen which would be a road friendly design direction. It looks like the body extends down under the doors almost as far as the 4ths running boards. If so, it's going to make it feel fragile off-road.

You're looking at the limited. Why don't you wait until you see the trail edition before you pass judgement.

This coming from the guy who sported 22"s on his 3rd gen and has a 4th gen that probably hasn't ventured much further than a dirt road.
I think the 5th gen is going to be alright once it's out there in the real world just like the 4th gens have turned out to be a fine 4Runner and yes, many will still continue to out oversized rims on them.

personally, the more i look at it, the more i actually like it. even the limited.
to me, it seems to have inherited some styling cues from the older Land Cruisers. (styling that's pretty much kaput with the new LC, i might add.)
