Molding is a Toyota dealer installed option. I also "splurged" for the Crystal Window treatment which makes a notable difference. I paid list price and it has the tan interior. My initial impressions after only 35 miles is that it feels like 1.5X the size of our 2006 4Runner---both taller and wider. To be honest, it may be too big for me. Send me a PM with any reasonable offer. It is in Greenwich, CT

i second that. i test drove an SR5 the other day and was blown away by how much BIGGER it feels than the 4G… good or bad.

so after 35 miles you're selling it?

Damn, if you were closer (FL) I'd consider making you an offer.

2010 4Runner SR5 - First "real" road drive results

Finally took some outdoor pics after owning for two weeks. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting so many pics.

Took our first "real" drive on the road today. Put over 170 miles on I 79 near Pittsburgh, I 80, and a dirt road which got it muddy for the first time.

Pressed reset and gas mileage was 18.3 MPG at 80 MPH. I am averaging around 14 MPG in the suburbs. Took it up to 90 MPH for the first time today (still only 600 miles on it so I'm afraid to push it too much). Drive was awesome. Very solid and can't even tell when you are doing 90 MPH. Got on the highway to pass a slow vehicle entering and kicked down the pedal. Engine rev'd high and had great pickup (more than I expected). Also, I tested a pass of another vehicle while traveling 70 MPH and the boost was very nice. I heard some folks talk about highway passing with the V6 would not be sufficient, but was able to get "pushed" into the seat when I passed the other car.

Some interesting things I noticed. It was windy today and I could see the thin metal in the middle of the hood "flapping" in the wind. I thought the metal on my '03 Explorer was thin, but this is a lot thinner. Steering could be a little tighter when traveling at highway speeds. Brakes are very "touchy."

Overall, this vehicle is awesome. My only complaints are few as follows:

Miss the keypad entry on the door.
Don't like that there's no buzzer when you leave your lights on and get out of the vehicle. I heard someone on here say they turn off automatically even if you leave them on, but I let it sit for 1 1/2 minutes and the lights did not turn off.
When sitting in Aux mode, the windows do not wind down. Radio plays, but cannot roll down the windows. You either have to turn the car to the on position or start it to power the windows.
Would like to have LED brake lights - always wanted them and the only LEDs are on the mirror signals and third brake light.

If anyone has any questions, ask away. If you are considering buying one, I highly recommend it.

All the 5th gen wheels are 5.5" circle diameter same as 4th gen. The also all have a 15mm offset (inset), like the FJC whereas the 4th gen 4R has 30mm. The SR5 sizing is 17x 7J, the Trail is 17x 7.5J and the LTD is 20x 7J.

Is it just me, or do those gauges look a little strange? I feel I have to tilt my head to the side to see them normal. Probably something you would get used to I guess.

Other than that, I'm really digging the Limited's with the pearl white. Pretty sharp looking!

more familiar than strange, actually. a little too closely resembling the lousy 4G gauges, if you ask me. not really digging the pseudo-carbon fiber look either, personally. the optitron's are pretty hot, tho…

I wish my SR5 had the Optitron's. I believe they are standard in the Camry, so why not offer it in all 4Runner models????

Optitrons are not part of any package and are only included in the Trail and Limited trims.

Why does yours have the pin stripe running down the side?

Are those things hard to remove?

Why does it have a pin stripe? I dunno, came with it
Are they hard to remove? I dunno, afraid to try
E-How makes it sound sorta simple, but it really doesn't bother me that its there, at least yet.
I kinda wanna take of the SR5 badge tho
Also my car came with "First Place Finish" with the little window sticker and what not, some searching makes it sound like something that gets you a free wax ever six months, I know I should just call the dealer, but does anyone out here have experience with it, is it even worth chasing or should I just wash my own junk.
Went to target earlier, some lady walking out had a sequoia parked not far from me and said hey is that the new sequoia body style? and then said "oh, wait there is a Huge 4runner on the back, guess I should read more"
I just laughed, at her
Finally, after 218 miles and 3 weeks, I still havent figured out what im supposed to do with this trunk tray, JAPAN, we are not THAT lazy!
