That's pretty! Any tips on cleaning clay from the interior? Mine after going hard 😂

2010 Trail Edition

Glad to finally have a 5th gen! Still have my 3rd gen, but it needed a rebuild on the rear axle.

Also, I'm looking to swap the Black Rhinos for a set of black TRD rims or Level 8 MK6 rims. Thoughts?

Well I'm an Arkansas forest hillbilly! The thing is the clay is super abrasive. I don't want to scuff up my interior. The carpet I usually comb and pick it out. It's entangled into the fibers. A detail shop would probably laugh if I wanted to blow money.

Yeah I do it all the time but it's like a three day job. Im looking for quicker methods I don't know how easy the carpet comes out to power wash. And I figured it would be easier just to take the panels out and spray them (still a b1tch) As you can see I'm not rolling my windows up I'd rather have to clean this disaster zone. Someone actually recommend cling wrap when I'm mud conditions. Just peel off when done. This is the best idea I've heard yet!

Maybe but might be labor intensive (?).

Got stuck in my FJ40 at Ft Hunter Liggett (Monterey County) while pig hunting. Darn adobe slicked up my tires and I rolled into a rain ditch. Climbed out the passenger window, hiked out and caught a ride to the checkout station. Got another ride to a motel. Upshot: Busted an axle on a tow truck, tore a mirror off of another FJ40, and burned out a winch on a "logging" P/U! Took 2 days to get out.

Back home, I could not touch the underside of the fenders through the mud=got kicked out of a do-it-yourself spray wash for making a mess (There were baseball sized rocks in the pile that washed out, including some with fossils in them). My TLC only suffered two scratches in the paint.

Lessons learned: Get a Hi-Lift, shovel, and a tow strap at the least!

BTW: As much as I have LOVED my two FJ40s, I love my 2019 SR5 Premium more!!

Love the Level 8 Mk VIs. Took some acetone to the centercaps to get rid of the giant 8 logo and put on a TRD sticker to match the MaxTrax

Welp, picked my 4R up on April 20th and it now has a lift, new wheels/tires, BMC, Diff drop, and an assortment of other things.

I was able to take it on a good little trip the day after the lift was installed and it performed phenomenally. I had taken it on some easy trails before the lift and scraped a few times so its nice to not hear that sound anymore. haha

Sliders are coming next and a few other things on the list this year.

The pup is loving it as well.

See...Black was my second to last color choice (silver was the last) after having a black jeep. Black is so hard to take care of, but after deciding to murder it out, I am happy with my choice even if I already have some scratches.

Nice rig. I REALLY hope your wife isn't 39 years old, or you're going to have some explaining to do about that truck and license plate you bought for her...
