What was your hwy mpg?

Also, is your front license plate frame drilled into your bumper dealer ghetto style or is it fastened appropriately as it should?

4R's are hard to come by near Pittsburgh. I was the first one to purchase the first one the dealer received. That was on 11/27. Another one came in a few days later (12/2) and it was sold the same day. I don't think they've received any since then. I have not seen one on the road yet during all my travels (50 mile roundtrip commute every day and also traveled to Cleveland in a rental last week). Think I will get depressed when I know someone else in my area has one! By the way, it's a Black SR5 with Moonroof and Bluetooth/USB port. Cannot believe I bought another black vehicle - washed it four times already.

It did come with the KDSS.
New wheels and tires in the near future. No other plans as of yet.

St. George was a nice little town. However I was only in town for about 2 hours so I am sure there was a lot more to see.

I have been averaging just over 19 mpgs. Unfortunately the dealer did fasten the plate directly to the bumper. I just removed it a couple hours ago. A little filler and it should be good as new.

Did you register your new out-of-state 2010 4runner in CA yet?

I just went through one hell of a fiasco with the local smog place. Since the vehicle is so new, there is no software to interface with the onboard computer system. Local Toyota dealership didn't even know how to do it since they haven't done any yet and they recently lost their certified smog employee.

It was a complete clustervfck and reminds me why so many people complain about Kalifornia.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I took mine to a mechanic who is a family friend and he did not mention any issues with the computer system. On the other hand the 9.25% tax, plus registration fees, and a two hour wait made for a wonderful trip to the DMV. Good luck.

Sounds about like my experience. Living in SC and VA, I forgot what DMV lines were. Those two states seriously had 5 minute waits or less.

I agree with the tax burden and the 13 different fees. It's pretty discouraging.

If you're a AAA member, just go to one of their offices to do your DMV stuff. In and out in a fraction of the time.

Dang. Wish I had known that earlier. Situation is nearly done now.

Can anyone tell me whether I actually need to have my insurance company notify the DMV that I am covered?

From the website, it looks like I can just show the DMV my insurance card but when I tried that they told me, "nope, you need to contact your insurer and have them verify it with our system."

I'm hoping she was mistaken but I don't know.

It's my understanding that it is all done electronically now in the computer system. I haven't had to show my insurance card in years now when I pay for my tags at the AAA office. Figured it all shows up in the system or else they won't let you renew. Weird.
