2010 quick review vs. 08, 06

I recieve a new 4 runner every 2 years as a fleet vehicle. My 2010 arrived a couple weeks ago and here are a few things that I have noticed vs. 4th gen:
2010 1200 miles
2008 90000 miles
2006 100000 miles

5th rides more like a truck vs. 4th rides more like a car
front window side visiblity viewing is improved on 5th
Sirius & ipod now use aux plug without motor feedback when plugged in vs 4th had to use wireless & ipod on battery
Radio seems to get better radio reception in 5th
the shifter is HUGE vs. 4th (i will be replacing with smaller shifter knob)
the steering wheel is thicker in the 5th
there is more leg, head, & cargo room in the 5th vs. 4h
the 4th seemed more solid vs. 5th feels more lightweight

questions on 4th vs. 5th and I can try to answer. just post up.

8MM

I already replaced mine with a B&M long but the threads are cheap plastic so I drilled deeper and used a heli-coil.

MOMO makes a better one as you will need a tall since the shifter shaft is so long.

Oh and I agree with everything you said 100% and absolutely love my 5th.

I'm surprised with this one, considering the 5th is about 500lbs heavier than the 4th.

Were your two 4th gens V6s? Which feels quicker (seat of the pants)? (There's a thread in the Comparison sub-forum inquiring.)

both 4th gens were V6 4x4 units. What I mean is the doors & the hood feel lighter on the 5th gen. There is not the weight and the thud when you close the doors.

the 5th gen feel quicker by the seat of the pants. However it is not by much.

Hope this helps

I would, but I will need the the HUGE one when I trade in for my 2012. Go figure. thanks for the offer. Lease guy stated that the controls were larger for easier control with gloves on. Live in the SE so no gloves needed.
