Horn = clown car

One thing I never really thought of was the horn sound. My friend was by the other day and knows how I 'drive' and joked, how does the horn sound. I laughed and said, no clue, he hit the horn and started to laugh. My face was one of shock. The horn sounds like it needs to be in a clown car or in a mini cooper! No SUV should have a horn that sounds like that.

If anyone knows where I can get a replacement horn I would love it! I am not looking for a 'big rig system', but something that does have a little 'umph' to it.

Thanks!

Sounds almost exactly like the 3rd Gen. horn to me. Old school Toyota?!?!
I'm wondering if the 4th Gen. horn would be plug and play or shall we say plug and honk in this case.

That's funny because I just drove through a tunnel yesterday and honked the horn and my wife said it sounded like a bicycle horn. I was suprised as well!

Toyota is saving money all over the place on the 5th gen. They probably gave the 5th gen the same horn as the RAV4.

I used to live in Jacksonville and a friend had one of their systems in his E55 AMG. It was built into what used to be the spare wheel well pointing at the ground under his rear bumper. He did it so he could get people off his butt.

It was hilarious to be around when he blew the horn.

Personally, I would love to have a tiny polite horn, and one of the train horns. That way I can pick my level of intensity.

I'm scared to press the horn on my Rav4. It sounds so weak and feeble that it's embarrassing to use. Surprised that the new 4Runner would have that horn as opposed to what the Camry would have.

I had the same problem on the FJ. I added a second horn. The connector was there and it was simple to attach. It made a big difference in the sound. Maybe the 4runner has the same option?

Would be nice if someone could answer this. I don't want someone seeing me in their rear view mirror and thinking there's a VW beetle honking their horn!
