Leg Room

Im looking at a 2010 4runner and have test drove one. Im 6'3 and it seemed like I had plenty of room on the test drive, but was unsure how comfortable it would be for long periods of time. Any big guys have a new 4runner and have spent alot of time in it, how comfortable are you over long drives. Right now I have a 2008 Tundra and that has plenty of room, but need more storage space for the dogs.

I am 6ft tall and I am not that comfortable in it. I drive a bigger vehicle every day so maybe I am just spoiled. If I raise the seat in the 4runner to get enough of a "bend" for the legs then my hair hits the ceiling so then I lower it and while the lenght is enough I am to close to the floor.

Think of those items and go test it again - if you are comfortable that is all that matters. I drove a Honda CRV for 3 years and loved it. Changed to an Acura TL and loved it - got back in the CRV and couldn't stand it. Clearly you get used to more room very easily

I just put a deposit on a 5th gen this afternoon to replace my 3rd gen. While comparing numbers between the two, the only three dimensions that my 3rd gen (surprisingly) beat the 5th gen in was leg room, head room, and ground clearance. However, I'm only 5'8" so the disparity doesn't bother me.

Im on the fence about it, but it really did seem like i had a lot of room. Im not a straight up and down driver anyway, i usually angle the seat back rather then straight up and down. my wife has a crv and i cant get comfortable in that as i feel like im always straight up and down no matter how i adjust the seat. i guess ill just have to take it out again.

I am 6'4 and fit just fine, even better than in my Titan. The center concsole is low enough that it does not hurt my knee. It is one of the more roomy trucks I have driven for us tall people.

I'm 6'2 and have the seat all the way back... I could definitely use a few more inches in leg room

I'm 6'3", 200# and I drove across the country in 3 days around New Years Eve. 3,000 miles and I had no complaints. I actually had plenty of remaining room to move the seat back that I didn't use.

Enough leg room is relative, I'm just under 6'4 and I have very long legs, my torso on the other hand is not as long. So, the lack of legroom in the 4Runners is very much evident to me.

I tested the 4th Gen and the 5th Gen over a period of a month.

The 5th Gen has the same amount of legroom (IMO) when compared to the 4th Gen. However, somehow, the dimensions and sitting position on the 5th is slightly better and you feel just a little less like you are sitting on your ass with the legs folded above you.

The seat on the 4Runner the pan is longer slightly on the 5th gen, which means if you have long legs, your legs will get just that little bit more support when sitting. Compared to the Explorer, Grand Cherokee and even the Pilot,it is severely lacking.

Keep those legs active and stop often if you want to avoid the blood clotting
