Steering wheel audio controls - standard on SR5?

I'm having trouble understanding if steering wheel audio controls are standard or not. Can someone provide some guidance here?

Also, does anyone have any experience with carsdirect.com, or do you feel it's best to work directly with a dealer to secure a specific yet-to-be-allocated truck? Thanks for any suggestions.

i don't believe the steering controls are standard on the SR5. i test drove one without them. (the steering wheel looks naked without them, imo.)

can't speak to the carsdirect.com question, but someone else surely will. good luck!

Looks like you need to get the upgraded stereo for the SR5 to have the steering wheel controls. Getting bluetooth, ipod/USB integration, and steering wheel controls w/ the upgraded stereo seems like a nobrainer.

I agree, it is a no-brainer. What I want to do is to have the stock stereo for a few years, then upgrade to the next iteration of the Pioneer AVIC... the functionality of an aftermarket system like that would be incredible. Getting a clean looking install, on the other hand, may be a challenge.

Thanks for the info,
-TX

Ohhhh, that is BAD! I might have to get that for my 07 GTI that simply has an aux input. The ipod interface on that is soooo nice. Looks like that unit is near $1000 though. Yikes. That money gets me an amazing wheelset for one of my Cannondales.

I got the steering wheel control info off Toyota's website. Just click on interior and scroll down to where it talks about the tilt/telescope steering wheel options.
