I don't think you need to go to the dealers for this to be done. Usually it's something simple like holding both unlock and lock buttons at the same time for 10-20 seconds. Have you tried pressing it 3 times? (Unlock > Unlock > Hold Unlock) I haven't had the time to run out and try.

I reprogrammed my smart key to open all doors from the driver side by holding all 3 buttons.

I guess they do this because they assume if you turn the lights on while the car is off, you WANT the lights to stay on. If you forget to turn them off after driving, the system assumes you forgot to turn them off and so it turns them off automatically for you.

Make sense? Try it out and you will see.
that's exactly how it is on my '06. If the lights are already on before you turn off the engine, it'll turn off by itself or with a second press of the "Lock" button on the remote. If you fiddle with the lights after turning off the engine, the lights will stay on indefinately. The only way to turn them off is manually with the switch on the turn signal stalk.

Depends on your dealer. Some will do it the first time for free as a courtesy. If not, it would probably be $30-40 for half an hour of shop time.

Just went back to the dealer and they hooked me up. Took them about 5 min to hook the computer up and voila! Hold down the unlock button for 5 seconds and the windows roll down...Pretty nifty. The longer you hold down, the more the windows roll down. If only you could roll them up that way too...

I think the rear window can only be rolled down with the key.

That would be nice, but Toyota lawyers won't let it happen (liability).

I don't know how it works with Smart Keys now. But IIRC, with Lexus, if you put the key in the door lock and hold it in the lock position, the windows will close.
