Protecting HEADLINER - please help!!

Hey guys,

I have two big dogs (90lb each) that shed moderately. I also have a shiny new 4Runner coming in a few weeks. In my past experience, I've been able to protect almost all parts of the vehicle they've been in with cargo liners/seat covers/etc... EXCEPT for the headliner. In my previous vehicles, the headliner gets covered with dog hair from when their heads rub against it. To make things worse, lint rollers don't work well, and vacuuming is out of the question due to the fragility of the headliner and the glue holding it up.

I don't want this to happen to my new 4Runner headliner but I can't think of any ways/ideas to protect it. I've searched online for a headliner "cover" so-to-speak but couldn't find anything. (I've also searched this forum).

I know you guys are Automotive Genius' and am pleading and begging for any suggestions or help y'all could offer me. Please help!

Thank you in advanced!

=============

PS. Just in case you're curious, this is the shiny new toy I'm getting:

-2010 4Runner SR5 4WD with 4.0L V6
-Mag Gray Met with Premium Pkg (Leather, heated, power seats)
-Electrochromic display with back up camera
-Reverse - rear park assist
-Cargo Mats
-Power Moonroof
-AM/FM/MP3 w/ 8 speakers and integrated XM radio 90d trial
-Handsfree technology with Bluetooth streaming capability

i bet your dealer could get you a new headliner for 100 or 150, if it really bothers you replace it or go to an interior place and ask them to replace your headliner with vinyl

I'd buy a truck if you're that worried about your headliner. Can you say Tacoma?

I have a 80lb chocolate lab that rides around in the back pretty frequently. I haven't noticed any hair whatsoever on the headliners. If it ever becomes an issue, I think i'd probably try a regular indoor (non-shop) vacuum, with the turbine-style couch attachment. They usually have rollers that would kick the dirt into the path of the suction.

Try using those sticky FedEx packing slips that the shipping labels go into. They're about 5x7 inches and I use them to get pet hair off seats, suits, etc... much better than a lint roller. just peel off the back and slap it all over that headliner
